EXPERIENCE

Leanne Allison is commercial litigator with more than 10 years’ experience in litigation and dispute resolution. She has extensive experience in State and Federal Courts and the State Administrative Tribunal and regularly advises national and international clients in complex, high value commercial disputes.

Leanne's priority is to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients in an efficient and cost effective manner while maintaining a strong commercial focus. She appreciates how commercial disputes can impact the operation of a business and works hard to formulate strategies for successful alternative dispute resolution options.

Leanne has a broad range of experience in commercial matters including, Corporations Act matters, insolvency, contract, property, consumer and competition, and trusts and estate matters.

Leanne has extensive experience representing clients from a variety of industries including mining, finance, property, chemicals, construction, viticulture, logistics, franchising and health.

Leanne is on the board of Phoenix Support & Advocacy Services and is a member of the Women Lawyers of WA, Women in the Profession working group. She is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia and is based in our West Perth Office.

Leanne's recent litigation experience includes:

  • Acting in significant high profile family provision act proceedings.
  • Acting for shareholders of a publicly listed gold production and exploration company in proceedings involving contraventions of the Corporations Act and the Australian Consumer Law.
  • Acting for shareholders of a publicly listed gold production company in relation to a mining project involving a claim for damages in excess of $20 million in relation to a breach of contract. The proceedings involved claims of contraventions of the Corporations Act and Trade Practices Act.
  • Acting for liquidators in Federal Court proceedings in a claim involving breach of contract, negligence, and misleading and deceptive conduct and a damages claim in excess of $20 million.
  • Advising on applications for approvals of pharmacies under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and determinations by the Australian Community Pharmacy Association.
  • Acting on behalf of industrial companies in relation to environmental and workplace incidents. 
  • Acting on behalf of landowners in relation to directions issued by local council and in relation to investigations by the regulatory authority regarding the clearing of native vegetation.
